Spandex rounded out 2013 by collecting HP’s Best Channel Partner of the Year award for its work as a reseller of the Latex L Series. Appointed a little over a year ago, Spandex has championed the technology in the Australian market, landing strong sales and winning praise for its work with the environmentally friendly HP Latex inks.

James Gleeson, HP business manager production devices sign and display, was quick to congratulate Spandex on their accomplishment in the market.

“It is an acknowledgement of the investment and success Spandex has achieved in the marketplace with HP Latex technology. We look forward to continued growth and our combined efforts in bringing the benefits of Latex technology to more customers in Australia,” said Gleeson.

Alex McClelland, managing director, Spandex Asia-Pacific

Alex McClelland, Spandex managing director and vice president, said, “We have put our best foot forward and got right behind Latex on both equipment and consumable sales and the results have been very pleasing. To have this acknowledged by HP with the Best Channel Partner of the Year Award for HP Latex L Series Printers is indeed an honour and rounded off the year with extra icing on the Christmas cake.”

Spandex as appointed reseller of the L Series in November 2012, which consists of HP Latex 280 and 260 printers. In June 2013 the agreement was extended to include sales and support of HP Scitex Flatbed UV printers and 3.2 meter-wide HP Latex production printers.

First introduced by HP in 2008 as an alternative to solvent ink printing, the Latex inkjet technology uses pigmented water-based inks with a dispersion of polymer particles for fine resolution and vivid colours. The inks are odourless, classified as non-hazardous and HP claims an outdoor performance of five years with lamination, or three years unlaminated.
