Adelaide book printer, Hyde Park Press, stays up to speed with a new Heidelberg Speedmaster 102 press.

The five-colour machine is currently being installed at the Richmond-based business and will replace an existing press. According to director, Barry Davis, (pictured) it will be the company’s “flagship” moving forwards and give greater efficiency.

“We’re embracing new technology,” he said. “The press will offer improved efficiencies in make-ready and set-up speeds; it will turn jobs around much quicker.”

Davis said that the decision to go with Heidelberg was a natural one, given that the company is primarily a Heidelberg house. “We are impressed with the support, back up and service that they offer in South Australia,” he added.

Though 83-year-old Hyde Park Press is a general printer, offering both offset and digital, it has always had a strong emphasis on books. Davis said that the Speedmaster would complement the variety of work that Hyde Park Press produces.

“We’re very pleased to have upgraded the machine,” he said. “Now, we will be able to produce even better quality with quicker turnarounds.”
