SprintaPrint makes a dash for Sustainable Green Print

Tasmanian business, SprintaPrint has become the first printer in Australia to achieve Sustainable Green Print (SGP) Level Three accreditation.

Sustainable Green Print is the Printing Industries' multi-level environmental certification program based on the ISO14001 framework to help printing companies meet their environmental responsibilities and to go above and beyond compliance.

Presenting the award was Tasmania's environment, parks and heritage minister, Michelle O’Byrne, who believes that by achieving Level Three, makes SprintPrint a market leader both in Australia and internationally.

“SprintaPrint has risen to the challenge and is thriving, it is maintaining levels of employment and looking to add further employees and continue expanding into other states,” she said.

“The company is a testament to the fact that building sustainable practices into business can be good for the environment as well as the financial bottom line.”

Managing director of SprintaPrint, David Peck, said the added advantage of SGP was that it is tailored to meet the business requirements of a printing company, particularly the dynamics of ever changing trends in managing environmental responsibility.

“Apart from the obvious environmental advantages of complying with Level Three certification, this achievement tells the industry and our clients that we have reached a higher benchmark of better managing our waste, recycling, energy and water use and air emissions,” he said.

“From a business perspective, this program demonstrates our commitment to environmental sustainability. SGP also provides a platform for SprintaPrint to meet or exceed the environmental expectations of our customers and gives us the means to communicate our achievements responsibly.”

Printing Industries CEO, Philip Andersen, congratulated SprintaPrint for its environmental commitment and foresight in obtaining SGP Level three certification.

“SprintaPrint is to be commended for its recognition of the value of Sustainable Green Print certification in addition to ISO14001 which it achieved in 2007,” he said.
