Squeeze more out of wide-format with Roland courses
Roland DG users wanting to get more variety and scope out of their wide-format machines will be pleased to know that the company will be hosting a series of training courses for its VersaWorks wide-format support software system.
As part of its Roland DG Academy training offering, the company will be hosting the series of VersaWorks software courses and clinics that will kick off in late March, and run to late November.
The courses, which will be hosted at Roland DG’s Sydney and Melbourne offices, are designed to teach its wide-format press users how use the VersaWorks software to get the most out of their machines, and broaden their creative offering to their customers.
“The training courses are for Roland users who are new and want to learn more, or existing Roland users who want to get something new out of their machines,” says Roland DG Australia’s Anthony McCausland (pictured). “There’s a lot more they can get out of it [VersaWorks], particularly with profiling and colour management, and that can improve workflow and the quality of prints, which improves efficiency.”

The full-day courses will provide punters with details on how to best use both the standard and advanced features of VersaWorks, with particular focus on workflow automation and maintenance as well as colour management and profiles.
Additionally, the company will be once again offering its Roland Clinic days – a weekly clinic to help printers broaden their offering and expand their creative scope. These clinics, which started at Roland DG’s Sydney office in 2008, are also open to non-Roland users.
“This is a free service offered to anyone for advice, support and workflow, which is open each Friday at our offices in Sydney and Melbourne,” says McCausland. “Just book and drop in.”
The VersaWork courses will initially be held at the company’s offices in Sydney and Melbourne, but will be extended to Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth later in the year.
At present, the courses will be run on:
March 29 - Sydney
May 17 - Melbourne
July 12 - Sydney
August 30 - Melbourne
October 4 - Sydney
November 22 - Melbourne
