Stahlfolder Ti40 Proline

With the introduction of the Stahlfolder Ti40 Proline, A3 printers now have access to a level of technology normally associated with Stahlfolder’s top of the range folding machines.

“This is a great product for the A3 printer,” says Rudi Kolbach, Post Press Product Manager, Heidelberg Australia & New Zealand (HAN). “The Ti40 offers phenomenal quality and really allows A3 printers to move up a notch in the quality stakes at a realistic entry point. The fact that the Ti40 sports the same level of technology as the more advanced Stahlfolder products is a great benefit to the A3 market.”

This easy to operate buckle folder has an extremely small footprint to accommodate a variety of work environments. The unit also comes on casters enabling it to be moved out of the way when not in use.

Another feature the Ti40 shares with other top of the range Stahlfolders is the DCT 500 control system, which is operated via a central control panel. The DCT 500 enables the operator to monitor output, count delivered batches, check batch preselection and sheet gap data.

The new folder is very user friendly, says Kolbach. “The DCT 500 control system features a self-learning mode for set up of the operating parameters of the machine. The automation of the unit ensures the suction length and sheet gap are constantly monitored and adjusted automatically as necessary.”

“The design considers the ergonomics of the job at hand too. The combination buckle plates reduce the make-ready time for frequent format change and as they remain in the machine, the requirement for heavy physical work, and potential damage to the plates, is removed.”

The Stahlfolder Ti40 Proline handles sheets up to 40 x 65 cm at a top speed of 180 metres per minute. Driven by hardened and ground helical gears which provide total synchronisation of the folding rollers and slitter shafts, the Ti40 Proline is a perfect example of superior machine engineering that delivers the perfect fold every time.

The slitter shafts enable perforating, trimming, punching and scoring and are non-corrosive and easy to exchange via linchpins. Soft-polyurethane folding rollers come as a standard on all Stahl buckle-folding machines. The soft-polyurethane rollers result in 40% higher traction due to their compressibility. Hard rollers are available for very thin paper usage.

“The machine is very flexible as it works across the variety of jobs that A3 printers deal with daily,” concludes Kolbach. “It’s great to have an affordable product that provides the best quality. I believe the Stahlfolder Ti40 Proline will be a very welcome addition to the production flow.”
