First public presentation of the new Starleaton/DES powerhouse confirms the arrival of a new force in the wide-format equipment and consumables sector.
Ben Eaton took centre stage at the Visual Impact show yesterday at Sydney Park, to introduce his new combined company team to the industry. Taking a breath from his non-stop national tour to meet the extended customer base, he praised the way the two teams had combined.
"It's worked very well so far. We have some great people in both teams and at our first sales meeting last week the energy was amazing," he said.
With a total complement of over 40 personnel throughout Australia and New Zealand, Eaton is driving a relocation of people, offices and warehouses in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane. The massive reorganisation will see Starleaton/DES emerge as a first rank supplier to the signage and printing industries throughout the region.
“I keep on reminding people that we are a sales organisation and that the customer comes first. We have a lot on our plate but it’s all about servicing the customer. Luckily we have a lot of very good people on board,” he said.
Eaton is backed up by well-known industry identity, Ian Clare, founder and former managing director of DES, a creative force in the overall deal. He intends to remain on deck for quite a while to make sure the new business keeps traction.
At the Visual Impact stand Starleaton/DES was demonstrating OKI ColorPainter eco solvent engines as well as Epson wide-format machines, just the tip of the iceberg of what is now one of the largest ranges of signage and printing technologies in the industry.
