Steve Bracks to inaugurate PacPrint ‘05
Premier Bracks boasts a special link with the Australian printing industry, once holding the position of executive director of the Victorian printing industry training board. The Premier will stage a walk about of the PacPrint ’05 exhibition floor, before adjourning to a private VIP function where he will officially inaugurate the show.
A spokesman for the PacPrint ’05 board has expressed delight in the level of interest shown by the Victorian government, and welcomes the involvement of Premier Bracks “We are confident the Premier’s visit will highlight the considerable contribution PacPrint makes to the Victorian economy, and also shine the spotlight on the industry.”
The organisers have pronounced the visit by Bracks as a recognition of the importance of the printing and graphic arts industry in Australia. “It is not often we have a collective opportunity to demonstrate to the Government at the most senior level the strength of our industry, Australia's third biggest manufacturing sector and fifth largest employer,” said the spokesman. “PacPrint’05 puts our best foot forward and it is a tremendous feather in the industry’s cap to gain the support and attention of the Premier.”
