STI Lilyfield buys Pettaras Press equipment
STI Lilyfield set to move into Pettaras headquarters after purchasing the company’s equipment and machinery.
The move brings to an end the protracted winding up of Steve Pettaras high-profile business. There is no question of STI Lilyfield taking any of the Pettaras Press customer lists.
It adds a new dimension and considerable extra space to the STI Lilyfield enterprise. The combined press firepower of the two companies creates a major new print competitor in the Sydney market.
STI Lilyfield was a major Heidelberg house while Pettaras had recently become a Komori shop with the purchase of a long perfector.
In a letter sent to customers today, Dr. Tom Giessler and director, Ian Kingham announced the purchase:
“The new site and the additional equipment provide multiple significant strategic benefits to our clients. We will now be able to establish a new factory for Point Of Sale (POS) materials,” the letter said.
“In combination with the well-proven expertise of the STI Group as the market leader for POS solutions in Europe, we will offer additional products and services around the challenges at the POS. In addition to this, we are in the position to offer also additional services in our high quality commercial print business such as direct mailing, warehousing, and other logistical services at even more competitive rates.”
The Regents Park-based business will move to Pettaras’ Padstow site within the next three to six months. “This move includes all our existing equipment and employees,” the letter said.
The well-known Pettaras Press, run by managing director, Steve Pettaras, entered voluntary administration earlier this year, surprising many in the industry by its shock exit.
