North Melbourne human resources company, INGT, makes a successful bid for Tom Stockdale’s printing industry recruitment business, Stockdale Printstaff.

Under its newly created subsidiary company, Plus Recruitment, Northern Group Training Ltd (INGT) has taken over one of the industry’s highest profile printing industry labour businesses. Stockdale Printstaff’s founder and managing director, Tom Stockdale will move to the new company as its CEO. Takeover terms were not disclosed.

The buyout is a vote of confidence in Stockdale, the company and its management, and introduces a new high-powered training and workforce participation enterprise into the industry. “I could not have wished for a better result, “ said Tom Stockdale. “INGT has deep pockets and experience with apprenticeship training. It allows us to do more in the industry.”

INGT was founded almost thirty years ago by local Councils in the inner north of Melbourne, committed to the ideal of promoting workforce participation in the community.  It is the not-for-profit parent body for a group of companies providing a range of workforce solutions across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. These currently comprise of A Plus Apprenticeship and Trainee Services, Work & Training Ltd, and MAS National.

Stockdale over its ten-year history has expanded to become one of the leading commercial print industry recruitment companies with offices in Melbourne and Sydney. Under the leadership of Tom Stockdale (pictured) it has grown significantly and developed valuable partnerships across the industry. National Operations Manager Sean Cathie will continue in his role while a board of directors has been appointed to have oversight of the business and provide strategic direction and support to the team.

The entry of A Plus into the industry comes at a time of great change in the delivering of training and especially apprenticeships. The proposed retirement of the RMIT campus and the entry of Printing Industries into the sector has focused industry attention. Given Stockdale’s significant relationships with all parts of the commercial printing industry it will be set to play a major role in the future of training and labour hire.
