Strong global demand lifts MAN Roland sheetfed into profit

Reporting as the Printing Systems of the MAN Group, the division had a good year in both the web-fed and sheet-fed sectors. The two combined to produce an operating profit of $105 million, the result of an increase in global demand for German capital goods that climbed six per cent during the year.

However, regional sales of MAN Roland sheetfed presses in Australia and New Zealand were “a little disappointing,” according to Jonathan Clark, managing director of IPP Print & Pack. He said the year finished on a positive note with a number of substantial sales in the last quarter.

Globally the company is looking forward to an increasing dynamic of demand in the 2006 financial year, with the web-fed area having reached a very high order backlog. We expect an increase in 2006 operating profit overall.
