Super dad addresses LIA Graduate Awards

Australia Day Ambassador and athlete, Craig Goozee, guest speaker at this year’s LIA Graduate Awards.

Goozee (pictured below) began to raise funds for cancer in 1997, when his eldest child, Jessica, was diagnosed at the age of seven with a rare form of bone cancer called ewing sarcoma.

During the first twelve months of his daughter’s illness, Goozee decided to start raising funds for various children’s cancer-related foundations. In 2004 he completed a 34-day ultra-marathon from Albany WA to Broken Bay NSW raising $350,000 in the process, for cancer research and has since been named NSW Parent of the Year along with receiving an OAM in 2000.

According to federal president, Greg Grace, Goozee is a speaker who will resonate with and inspire audiences. “Attendees at the LIA’s Biennial Graduate Recognition Awards Dinner are in for a special after dinner treat,”he said. “Craig Goozee will bring to the audience a remarkable story of willpower and determination and is sure to be an inspiration to all.”
