Support from Komori floods into ABC Printing
Japanese press manufacturer, Komori, sends electrician from Tokyo headquarters to help power up ABC Printing in Queensland.
The Milton-based printer is believed to be one of the worst affected printers by the recent floods. According to Gerard Wintle, (pictured) offset print manager at Ferrostaal Australia, who is coordinating the services offered by Komori with flood-affected customers, the press manufacturer was keen to help in any way it could.
“They were quite concerned right from day-one and offered the electrician’s services for nothing,” he said. “The electrician is in the process of helping right now and will prepare a report on whether he thinks [the press] is recoverable or not – which is fairly doubtful at the moment due to all the damage.”
In a letter, CEO, Yoshiharu Komori in Japan expressed his company’s condolences to those affected by floods everywhere in Australia. “We do hope the situation will recover rapidly and together with Komori and everyone’s efforts business and life would come back to a condition as normal as possible very soon,” he wrote.
Wintle believes that such service and sentiment is “typical” of Komori. “In times of disaster they are quick to react and offer their services,” he said. It’s part of their calling.”
ABC Printing did not return calls at time of going to press.
