Sydney unwraps drupa next Tuesday
The final drupa unwrapped roadshow session will be held in Sydney next Tuesday.
The follows the successful completion of last night's Western Australia event in Perth which, like its Melbourne and Brisbane predecessors, attracted good crowds of printers eager to hear about drupa first hand.
Printing Industries' Western Australia general manager, Paul Nieuwhof, commended the Perth session speakers for their knowledge and commitment to drupa unwrapped.
"It's not often that the west has the opportunity of hosting an event of this magnitude, but the commitment of our supply speakers and our own local speakers willing to share their drupa experiences was very well received by the WA industry," he said.
"The outstanding point that has emerged from all of this is that our industry is continuing to innovate creating more opportunities for printers to print more efficiently and make more creative use of print.
"These presentations have highlighted the technologies and infrastructure necessary to accomplish this to make the Western Australian industry more competitive against both offshore and mainland colleagues," he said.
Last week, more than 100 early breakfast starters packed the Glen Waverly Novatel Hotel in Victoria as the roadshow made its second stop around Australia.

GEON's group process and operations improvement manager, Shane Smithe, said drupa highlighted that the lines between offset and digital had become increasingly blurred.
'We will continue to see further integration of jobs between offset and digital and with challenging budgets and one-on-one marketing methodologies becoming more commonplace, the shift to digital machinery for many will continue. It is unlikely that digital will erode the sheetfed market in the short term, but in the longer term who knows," he said.
Next in line is the Sydney session will be held on Tuesday 29 July at the Mercure Hotel, 106 Hassell St, Rosehill beginning at 7.30am with a plated breakfast.
Speakers include: Herbert Kieleithner, marketing manager, production printing, Océ; Garry Muratore, regional marketing manager AGFA; Brett Maishman, national commercial print business manager Xerox; Steve Dunwell state manager NSW, Curry Group; Napil Abdel, regional manager, Tharstern Australia and Glenn Plummer, general manager marketing and product management, Heidelberg.
Printer's Perspective speakers include Stuart Shirvington GEON general manager operations and Simon Dodd, group manager, Snap Printing.
