A shared belief in sustainable and enviro friendly print proved a natural meeting point for Ben Eaton, general manager, Starleaton and Ian Cleary, sales director, Adkotes when they came to negotiate a takeover.
The deal between the two Sydney firms sparked the creation of a new industrial sales division for Starleaton Digital Solutions to be headed by Cleary. He is bringing across the complete range of Adkote wide format products including Ultra Board from his company. The Vineyard-based Adkotes was noted for its volume sales to some of the largest producers in the industry.
Cleary also did a good line in capital equipment such as the Xante Excelagraphix 4200 for packaging printing and RTI Vortex 4200 and 850R high-speed print devices powered by MEMJET According to Ben Eaton they are perfect additions to the Starleaton range.
“With Adkote’s history of selling high volume grand format print devices, the business was a perfect add on to our existing customer base” said Eaton, GM for SDS. “Ian has a great nose for product and a deep understanding of what is required in the high volume print space.”
Then there was the synergy between the two businesses in sustainable and environmentally friendly print solutions. Products such as Reflex & Re-mesh, which are 100% recyclable banner and mesh products, join the ever evolving green offerings from SDS that includes Converd and Beaver board.
“Starleaton have a long and successful history of great customer support in our market so this move will greatly benefit all the Adkote customers with wider product range, increased stocking ability, faster delivery times whilst still maintaining our great customer service” said Cleary.
“I am excited about this new chapter in the business and look forward to working with all our existing and new clients.”
