David Crowther is delighted to host top executives from German-based Techkon on the Colour Graphic Services (CGS) stand at PacPrint to demonstrate the new generation SpectroDens.

Techkon MD Albin Baranauskas, on his first trip to Australia, is presenting a free workshop on spectrophotometers which will cover colour measurement for printing, packaging, photography, wide format and digital reproduction. Techkon export manager Corinne Pèrigaud joins him in Melbourne.

“The topic is the efficient use of Spectrophotometers,” says CGS MD Crowther, aka The Colour Doctor, who was pleased to accept a Hot Pick award for the SpectroDens.

“Changes to ISO and other standards have necessitated changes in spectro-densitometer design and usage. It can be quite confusing with terms such as M0, M1, M2 and M3, the use of optical brighteners in paper stocks and varying illumination specifications such as D50 and D65.

“Albin is highly experienced in every aspect of correct use of colour measuring devices and the software that goes with them."

The Techkon SpectroDens is an all-purpose modern measurement device for every application from pre-press to print, whether it for checking and verifying proofs in pre-press, for ongoing QC press side, during delivery inspection of paper and print products or in a colour lab.

SpectroDens combines the qualities of a highly accurate spectrophotometer and an easy-to-use densitometer. Measurement is spectral, i.e. the entire colour information, the spectral fingerprint of the colour, is precisely recorded.

The Windows software SpectroDens Connect supplied with the instrument clearly displays measurement data collected via the USB or wireless ‘lan’ on the computer screen.

Colour Graphic Services is exhibiting at PacPrint on stand B62.
