‘The HP Indigo press sold’ – Letter to the editor

I’d like to make the point that the machine in question is nine years old and is one of the pre-HP Indigos. In fact it was the first Indigo to go into South Australia.

Perhaps Andy McCourt should have told the full story of the auction. In case your readers get the wrong impression they should be told that in the same auction there were two Heidelberg DI presses, a Speedmaster and a Quickmaster that failed to draw a single bid.

I may not be happy if the buyer of the E-Print phones me up and wants me to service the machine, but we will do our best for them.

It is always challenging when somone buys equipment that we have not had the opportunity to inspect and certify. The customer's expectations of what we can achieve may not always be possible. This is the main reason why we trade-in equipment, certify and resell it. It gives the customer the confidence that the equipmentt will be fully operative and supported.

It should also be noted that at the same auction a Horizon collating system originally supplied by Currie Group, sold for a very good price.
