Family-owned Queensland printer The Print Group has liquidated after ten years in business, blaming a dispute with a supplier.
The Print Group was founded in 2008 by husband-and-wife team Robert and Amanda Churchley from the purchase of two printing businesses - an offset printer and a photocopying and stationery company - and provided both digital and offset printing services from its plant in Loganholme, Brisbane.
"We’ve had a long-running dispute with a major machine manufacturer, and that is the reason why we’ve liquidated the company," said Robert Churchley, director. He declined to name the manufacturer or comment further.
The Print Group specialised in training and education material, and had a partnership with the National Safety Council of Australia (NSCA) to manage the print for NSCA's training courses around the country. "Since outsourcing our total print volume to The Print Group, we have been able to streamline our administrative processes, allowing us to provide greater focus on our core business - providing quality training services," the NSCA said in a testimonial on The Print Group's website.
Churchley declined to say what will happen to The Print Group's staff and assets including digital presses, A2 offset presses and finishing equipment, saying he is still reviewing his options. SV Partners' David Michael Stimpson, who is handling the liquidation process, was unavailable for comment.
