Large format specialist The Printcentre Group went into liquidation last month following a meeting of the company owners.
Staff members turned up for work in Sunshine West on Monday morning, August 15, to find the doors had been locked and they were shut out. About 20 former staff members have been forced to seek compensation for their pay and entitlements through the federal government's Fair Entitlements Guarantee.
The company had expanded to Sydney in 2014, opening a new flatbed and wide format factory at Rosebery, but then shut down the operation the following year to concentrate on the Melbourne business – originally based in Port Melbourne before a shift to the new location on North View Drive, Sunshine West.
The Printcentre owners John Doyle and Darren Soppi have yet to make any public comment.
