The winds of change: 15 December 2010

Just because the year is winding up doesn’t mean that there aren’t new faces joining or moving around the industry. This week, Print21 meets up with Mark Brindley, new managing director of Agfa Oceania, reports on Steve Ford’s promotion to sales director at Kodak and congratulates Livio Barbagallo, Muller Martini Australia, managing director, on his new corporate HQ in Sydney’s southwest.

The new man is no stranger to the industry or the company, stepping up from his previous position of southern region sales manager. A long-term company employee his elevation is a tribute to the depth of local talent in the company.

He will be ably assisted in his role by the supervision of Tim Van Den Bossche, (left) president Agfa Graphics Asia. The local company is now comes under the Asian region sphere of influence.

Steve steps into sales role
Another promotion from within the company sees Steve Ford step up as sales and strategic product group director for Kodak graphic communications group ANZ.

As sales and strategic product groups director, Ford (pictured) will be responsible for leading the graphic communications group’s team of sales and business Development Managers. This will involve overseeing the national operations for the Graphic communications group and the continued innovations in Kodak digital production presses, workflow software solutions and digital plates for commercial printing.

Ford is currently business development manager, digital printing solutions, where he drives business performance for the company’s inkjet and electrophotographic printing systems.  Ford’s predecessor, Adrian Fleming, was recently announced as managing director, Australia and New Zealand.

Prior to this appointment, Ford worked for Eastman Kodak company based in Belgium for three years as the Europe, Africa, Middle East Region, business manager where he led a team of regional distributors across 25 countries to drive growth and sales for the region.

“Steve brings a global perspective, backed by a proven track record of innovative approaches in print and digital solutions. His extensive sales experience will help Kodak Australasia continue to deliver leading-edge products and services, while creating strong connections with our customers,” said Kodak managing director, Adrian Fleming.

“I am pleased to have this rare opportunity to lead the commercial business into new and exciting directions.” Ford said. “Adrian Fleming has set a high bar of excellence, so I look forward to developing his programs, while identifying new initiatives and opportunities.”

A new home for Christmas

Livio Barbagallo, managing director of Muller Martini Australia, is hoping to have moved his team into the new customised corporate HQ at Edgar Street, Condell Park by Christmas. The new 1500 sq metre office and warehouse complex is close to some of the largest newspaper facilities in Australia at Chullora.
Livio is planning on introducing the industry to the new facility with an Open House in 2011.
