The winds of change: 17 April 2008
The printing industry has more people coming and going than an airport. This week, Print 21 takes a look at the flurry of changes that has occurred.
Bruce Lowery (pictured) has always believed in the power of industry bodies, so when Printing Industries offered him the position of business development officer he couldn't think of a better opportunity.
Lowery has been involved with GAMAA and the LIA. "I believe they play an extremely important, if not vital, role in the health and vitality of our industry," he said. "When PIAA approached me I was quite delighted."

Perhaps the only thing for Lowery to be cautious of was the start date. "I commenced on 2 April," he said. "We realised that starting the day before could have been taken the wrong way by some people."
Lowery comes to the role following a 12-month sabbatical after a career with Agfa Graphics spanning 37 years where he held various positions covering areas from sales, marketing, training and general management.
Now, the wheel has come full circle and Lowery is glad to be back in the industry. "Some of my firmest and long-standing friendships have come from my involvement with the printing industry," he said. "It is great to once again be working with these people."
Jonny joins Celmac
Jonny Rumney (pictured) has joined the Celmac team in its NSW operation where he takes up the role of application specialist.

"It's all going great so far," he said. "I'm really enjoying learning about the new products."
Jonny was chosen for his industry knowledge and experience and has been warmly welcomed by all those at Celmac. "Jonny has extensive knowledge on wide format printing, with a specialty on colour management, profiling and various software applications," said Andrew Wells, marketing manager. "Jonny also has strong relationships throughout the industry with both clients, suppliers and local / international contacts alike."
