The winds of change: 18 August 2010

 Major movement in the industry with promotions at Geon, new faces joining PMP, while HP expands its Graphic Solutions business team, and at Fuji Xerox, Peter Brittliff is appointed to the role of marketing manager, production printing systems and workflow software.

Geon promotes three executives: Scott Thompson, Tony Onsley and Steve Hill to new roles within the company.

Scott Thompson, formerly general manager, southern region, takes on the new role of executive general manager, Australia, and will be accountable for the full profit and loss results for all of Geon’s businesses in Australia.

Tony Onsley has been appointed executive general manager, strategy and growth, and will focus on growing Geon’s offering to clients and researching, assessing and implementing new technologies, products and services.

Steve Hill has been appointed as executive general manager, human resources and talent development. Geon’s New Zealand business will continue under the leadership of Andrew Durrans as executive general manager, New Zealand and Ashley Fenton as chief financial officer.

Graham Morgan, (pictured) CEO of Geon, said that the senior management team is a strong and stable group taking the company into the next stage of growth. “These appointments will make the most of our existing group-wide capabilities, but also identify the next suite of products and services. We want to lead and transform our industry – an industry where change is accelerating every day,” Morgan said.

“With these appointments, we have reached the stage where we can capitalise on our capability across the
Australian businesses as well as ensuring that we improve our alignment as a group. It’s a good time to be at GEON as we enter the next growth stage of our business.”

 

Change in directors at PMP
Two new non-executive directors have joined PMP.

Naseema Sparks and Sik Ngee Goh have been appointed non-executive directors effective today.  He also announced that Dató Jui Sia Ng  has resigned as a director of PMP. Goh has been appointed to replace Dató Ng.

Prior to joining PMP, Sparks held senior positions in agencies in Australia and the UK, her most recent being MD of M&C Saatchi.  She is currently a director of Blackmores Ltd, Mitchell Communication Group Ltd and Sydney Dance Company.  She is also National President of Chief Executive Women.
 
Goh has worked with a number of organisations, which included being CEO of Yellow Pages (Singapore) Limited, and CEO of MediaCorp Publishing. He was recently appointed Chief Executive Officer of Times Publishing Group on 1 July 2010.

Both Sparks and Goh will stand for election at PMP’s annual general meeting in November 2010.

HP grows Graphic Solutions business team

HP has expanded its Graphic Solutions Business (GSB) team with the announcement of four new appointments – HP Indigo print-on-demand (POD) and industrial market specialist, Max Kaye; HP ink and media specialist, Eel Keit (EK) Chiew; channel marketing manager, Rachael Hunter and HP Designjet channel manager, Angelo Krstevski. Also appointed to new roles are Ben Ho as HP Indigo channel manager and Zoran Novakovic as commercial and industrial signage channel manager.   

Shane Lucas, (pictured) director HP Graphic Arts South Pacific, said the new appointments represented an almost doubling of the team and are “to accommodate the stellar growth of HP in the graphics market and the digital convergence revolution.”

“We have seen tremendous expansion across the business,” he said. “The global financial crisis hasn’t affected us like so many other suppliers. HP has doubled the previous structure for GSB while others have cut back. And HP will continue to invest in order to deliver the best services for our customers.”

Peter makes a mark at Fuji Xerox

Peter Brittliff appointed to the role of marketing manager, production printing systems and workflow software.

According to Simon Lane, national manager for production printing systems at Fuji Xerox Australia, Brittliff was the ideal candidate. “Peter has demonstrated experience with marketing and sales of high speed production printing systems,” he said. “More importantly, his background as a software specialist and in pre-press environments means he has a fantastic understanding of our customers’ requirements.”

Brittliff started his career as an apprentice typesetter in Queensland, and later moved in to more senior roles in the commercial printing industry. In 1998, Peter joined Canon Australia as a software support officer, and later worked in professional services and sales roles, before moving to a marketing role in 2007.

 “As a market leader, Fuji Xerox Australia has a real vision for where the industry is heading,” he said. “I am looking forward to helping maintain the company’s market leadership in the monochrome printing business, and at the same time meet our clients’ requirements for enhanced workflow solutions.”

In the new role, he will be responsible for marketing Fuji Xerox Australia’s range of high speed cut sheet monochrome print systems such as the Nuvera and DocuTech platforms, as well as the FreeFlow range of workflow solutions and related third party products.
