The winds of change: 26 August 2009
Major movement in the industry this week as Fuji Xerox appoints Andy Berry as general manager of integrated sales and marketing and Anthony Cogswell as head of its global services division; long-time AMWU identity Steve Walsh makes a move to Switzerland and John Allan joins Positive Camtec.
Moving on up at Fuji Xerox
Two major promotions take place at Fuji Xerox’s senior management team.
Andy Berry, formerly general manager of Fuji Xerox Global Services, has been promoted to director and general manager of the company’s Integrated Sales and Marketing division. Anthony Cogswell replaces Berry as the new general manager of Fuji Xerox Global Services after spending four years heading up the division’s national operations.
The management team changes follow the appointment in July of Nick Kugenthiran as the company’s new managing director after the departure of his predecessor Andy Lambert.
“Combined, Andy and Anthony have 34 years experience at Fuji Xerox and their knowledge is an invaluable asset to the company,” said Nick Kugenthiran, managing director of Fuji Xerox Australia. “Their collective wisdom, experience and dedication to the company will no doubt contribute to the company’s ongoing positive growth and leadership in the business imaging market.”

As the new manager of the Integrated Sales and Marketing division, Andy Berry (pictured)’s main focus will be to ensure Fuji Xerox continues to maintain a clear leadership position in its served markets, namely office output devices, digital workflow solutions, and print production press and workflow solutions.
“In a highly commoditised and price competitive print market, Fuji Xerox continues to innovate and deliver solutions that meet evolving customer needs,” said Berry. “I look forward to driving continued growth across the Integrated Sales and Marketing division and ensuring our solutions exceed customers’ expectations.”
As the new general manager of Fuji Xerox Global Services, Anthony Cogswell (pictured) is responsible for maintaining the division’s strong growth and expanding its portfolio of managed document services.

“More than 100 customers currently rely on the skills and experience of the Global Services team to streamline document-intensive business processes and introduce greater efficiencies across their organisations,” said Cogswell. “My focus is on ensuring the Global Services division continues to deliver exceptional service and assists clients to improve the effectiveness of customer communication, while building our market leadership as a managed services provider.”
Steve swaps Melbourne for Switzerland
Well-respected national secretary, Steve Walsh is leaving Australia to take up a post with the Australian Manufacturers Workers’ Union’s international global union, UNI Graphical. This position is based in Nyon, Switzerland.
Walsh has spent 30 years as an official with the union and the last nine as Federal Secretary. An ever-reliable source of information and an active voice within the industry, Walsh will be missed by his fellow Australians. From all of us at Print 21: Viel Gluck!
John Allan leads Positive Camtec Victorian technical sales
New Positive Camtec technical salesman, John Allan, expands the company’s presence in Victoria.
The appointment is an effort by Positive Camtec to target the Victorian market directly. Over the past eight years Allan (pictured) has worked exclusively in the wide format digital printing industry with expertise in colour management, RIP software, sublimation and textile printing, UV curable flatbed printing and general service and maintenance.

“John’s expertise and broad product knowledge will be a real asset to Positive Camtec and the Victorian market,” said Philip Trumble, technical director of Positive Camtec.
“We are committed to offering the very best products and service in the industry and adding John to our team will allow us to meet the current and future demands of the industry and maintain our exceptional service and support record.”
In his role as technical sales, Allan will look after the complete range of products offered by Postive Camtec comprising Roland & Epson wide format digital printers, Teckwin Solvent and UV Curable printers, Ergosoft RIP Software, Dye Sublimation Systems, Ink, Media, and Consumables along with offering the Victorian market local service and technical support.
