The winds of change: 5 September 2011

This week’s movement in the printing industry sees Heidelberg’s Bernhard Schreier appointment as drupa’s new president plus Starleatons new Melbourne account manager, Tomas Lorenc

drupa has a new president

Heidelberg chairman Bernhard Schreier has taken the helm as drupa’s third president, following Weickenmeier’s resignation due to a company restructure.

Weickenmeier has been appointed as drupa’s leading man since the last trade fair in 2008, but according to show organisers he is no longer available for the tasks of the drupa president as a result of the strategic reorientation of the Körber Group’s Paper Division, where he is the managing director for sales and marketing.

“I am delighted to accept the role of drupa President at this particularly exciting and important time for our industry, “ says Schreier (pictured).

He adds that drupa 2012 is a really crucial initiator for the print media industry, and he will contribute significantly to the successful planning and organization of it.

Starleaton brings European knowledge into the mix

Tomas Lorenc joins Starleaton Digital Solutions as another experienced account manager to its growing Melbourne branch.

According to national sales manager, Campbell Hughes, it is rare that someone of Tomas’s background becomes available in Australia. “He will be a very welcome member of our team and I am sure our customers will recognize his skills as he gets around his Victorian territory.”

Hailing from the Czech Republic, Lorenc used to be the Prague business region manager for HSW Signall. Before that he was sales manager for VisCom materials for Antalis.
