The winds of change - people, leaving, moving, news: 22 November 07
The printing industry has more people coming and going than an airport. This week, Print 21 charts the flurry of changes that has occurred.
John hits the road
John Shore, Agfa Graphics' Oceana general manager, chooses the beaten track over the corporate world and calls it a day.
Beginning a cadetship in the printing industry at age 16, Shore has spent most of his life involved in business. Not anymore.
"I'm just going to wander," he said. "I'm looking at life in two-year periods. I'm going to forget about the printing industry for two years."

Shore has been with Agfa for the past 14 years, and arrived in Australia in 1999. This is a good innings by anyone's standards and so he is understandably keen to get out while the going is good.
"My wife is also retiring and we've bought a four-wheel drive," he said. "It's time to enjoy myself."
While most people would look back on their memories, Shore instead looks forward - at least as far as Agfa is concerned. He reckons that he has prepared the company well for the future, and welcomed his successor Frederik Dehing.
"I have put together a new management team to take the business forward," he said.
