Fred waves goodbye to Agfa
Queensland lures long-time Agfa employee Fred Potts (pictured) into retirement after 30 years with the company.
Beginning at Agfa in the UK, Potts came to Australia in the early 80s to take up a dealer support position in Agfa's Melbourne office, where he has remained. His work in promotions was the highlight of his time with Agfa. Fred recounts winning a worldwide competition for the greatest growth in product, which in turn saw him rewarded with an overseas holiday.

Now, he's moving to sunny Noosa, a far cry from the eclectic city of Melbourne. Apart from soaking up the sun, he has no clear plans on what will come next. " I will possibly do something in the industry on a freelance basis if I feel like it, but it's all very pie in the sky," he said.
Agfa said that Fred would be dearly missed. "Fred was instrumental in establishing an excellent CopyRapid and SuperMaster plate business via our distributor network in the nineties" said Agfa general manager John Shore. "He also helped established LithoStar as a plate of choice with distributors who sold engines other than Agfa. All at Agfa wish Fred the best in the next phase of his life."
