The winds of change – people moving, new faces, industry appointments, news
Welcome back, Lalen
Ron Patterson, Printing Industries General Manager Victoria and Tasmania, and National Sales Manager, is building his team to ramp up the Association’s membership with the inclusion of well-known industry marketing identity, Lalen Dogan.
“It’s something we need to keep working at with the number of consolidations going on. Lalen knows the industry well, especially on the Associate’s side,” said Ron. Lalen was previously with Kodak before taking a brief spell in the pharmaceutical industry. “It’s good to be back. I’m enjoying meeting all my old friends again,” he said.
On giant shoulders: David Christie takes on brave new role
For David Christie (pictured), joining CPI has been a journey.
“I feel like I’m following in the footsteps of the giants in the Australian paper industry,” he said, citing CPI founders Peter Sajet, Daryl Lea and Geoff Forsyth as an inspiration.

Appointed the role of national sales manager of CPI papers, Christie will be responsible for the performance of the sales team. Coming to this role, Christie expected something like “waking up a sleeping giant” but instead the opposite was true. He notes that his colleagues are on the ball at all times: “It’s unusual to come into a place where people are so switched on,” he said.
Randa hits the road in new sales role
Well-known industry identity Randa Amatoury (pictured) is leaving Kodak to pursue a new role at Raleigh Paper as a paper consultant.
With years of experience in marketing communications at Creon and Kodak, Randa is one of the few professional marketers on the supply side of the industry. Her new role will involve getting out on the road and taking paper to printing agencies and graphic designers.
With her foot still firmly set in the printing world, she happily admits that: “I’m not leaving the industry at all; you can’t get me out that easily.”
