The printing industry has more people coming and going than an airport. This week, Print 21 takes a look at the flurry of changes that has occurred.

Romano takes control of large format printing
Growth in the large format market prompts Epson to appoint a business manager.

Romano Bacci (pictured) has taken on the responsibility of the day-to-day running of Epson's large format printer business across Australia and New Zealand. "I am very happy to be leading our large format team when we have so many new and innovative products being launched," he said.

Craig Heckenberg, head of business solutions, welcomed Romano to the team. "[He] brings considerable experience and an outstanding record in customer service to this role, and I am sure Epson customers old and new will welcome him," he said.

"He gives our business the necessary experience and knowledge to expand, while still meeting the needs of our professional print customers."

Romano joined Epson Singapore in 1998 in the international business division as a sales executive and managed distribution channels and sales for a range of products across 7 countries. In 2005 he moved to the large format printer team as the product manager until relocating to Australia this year to take up this new role.

Jeremy gets down to business with HP
Jeremy Brew joins HP as mid-volume print service provider - business development manager.

Jeremy (pictured) is well known in the printing and graphic arts industry in Australia having most recently worked in the large format reseller channel with the HP Designjet range of large format printers.

Prior to this he worked for Apple Computers in hardware sales working closely with printing and design customers.  He has also held positions with Sensis.

Shane Lucas, vice president and general manager HP IPG South Pacific said the broadening market segments in large format and HP's expanded offering required the appointment of a business development manager to service the mid-volume large format print service provider market.

"In this dedicated position Jeremy will focus on helping our print service provider customers to grow their large format offering," he said.

Jeremy will work with both channel partners and end customers drawing on his experience to showcase the potential of the rigid and flexible applications enabled by the company's solvent and UV curable HP Designjet range of large format printers.

Todd goes digital
After eight years at Bottcher, national sales manager, Adam Todd, is moving into the digital arena by joining Fuji Xerox.

Much has changed for Todd in his time at Bottcher. “I came off a printing press with no other experience but being a competent lithographic printer and joined Bottcher as technical sales executive,” he said.

He leaves with fond memories of a great company. “Working with Bottcher has given me the opportunity to learn many new skill sets which I have enjoyed and embraced but most importantly has introduced me to a great bunch of new friends both here in Australia and abroad.”
