Still staying in New South Wales, Hanks (pictured) will be based in Paragon’s
Sydney office. He said that he was drawn to Paragon as not only is it one of the largest independently owned commercial printers in Australia but it also offers a complete suite of communication solutions. “I’m excited about joining Paragon and the opportunities it will bring,” he said.
Mel Dalgleish, managing director of Paragon Australasia Group, welcomed Hanks on board. “Paragon has begun its next era of growth and with the experience and knowledge that Phil Hanks brings to the team we are looking forward to an exciting few years ahead,” he said.
Digital director drives CPI
A 27-year stint with HP helped to land David Booth (pictured) the role as general manager of CPI Graphics’ digital division. Booth, whose roles included national channel sales manager – ESS for HP for five years, has a strong digital background.

Bernard Cassell, managing director of CPI Group said that Booth’s knowledge and experience made him an ideal candidate for the role. “David is a consummate, professional sales manager and driver with a proven record of performance and achievement. His career within HP was one of constant growth and development. He brings with him not only a deep knowledge of HP but strong experience in managing and directing sales in a multi-channel environment. We are fortunate to have secured his services and are very confident he will continue the growth of this business,” he said.
In a statement, CPI said that following the sale of its offset printing distributorships it is now focussed purely on selling equipment and consumables for the digital printing market. Products carried by CPI Graphics include the HP Scitex and Designjet printers, inks and related consumables as well as a range of digital finishing equipment, including the Morgana, Plockmatic and Challenge ranges.
