There’s something about George Street: phone book saga continues
White Pages forced onto the streets of Redfern … again.
Following reports of unclaimed White Pages in George Street, Redfern last month, more directories have resurfaced. Catching the vigilant eye of Print 21’s online editor, Mitchell Jordan, early this week, the loaded trolleys, photographed on 16 September, remained loitering and just begging for someone to bring them home, until this article was published. (Presumably taken away by a Sensis collection truck.)
A spokesman from Sensis claimed that most of the directories had been collected by residents when they were distributed in late August, though the two trolleys suggest that there are still plenty of unwanted, homeless phone books hanging around Redfern.
More phone books? Redfern's got 'em by the trolley load.
