Time up for Argyle Graphics’ name change
Argyle Times Graphics is owned by the Times Publishing Group, a multinational organisation with printing operations in Singapore, Malaysia and across China. It also operates several publishing houses worldwide.
Richard Rudzki, general manager of what is now known as Times Printers Australia, says his Victorian-based company wanted to refresh its strategic direction and reinvent itself in the marketplace. As part of that it was decided to rebrand the business.
“We thought the easiest way for us was to link the change to our parent company, the Times Publishing Group,” says Rudzki. “Many of the group’s companies across Asia run with this name so we thought it would be an effective way for us to forge closer ties across the region.”
The changes to the web-printing Australian operations are part of an overall consolidation across the group that will see all of the companies renamed under the ‘Times’ brand. Simon Fitzgerald, national sales manager for Times Printers Australia, says the consolidation will allow his company to more effectively outsource work to the Group’s eight plants across Asia.
“In addition to the work we produce in Australia, some jobs that are less time sensitive can be outsourced overseas,” says Fitzgerald.
“The rebranding will allow us to manage that process better and give our customers easier access to local and offshore print, both of which we are able to facilitate.”
New faces join Times Printers Australia
The company will soon have a new general manager in the form of Ken Alexander, a long-serving member of the industry with prior experience at PMP and HannanPrint. Richard Rudzki will remain with the company in his new role as regional director and will be responsible for strategic issues and maintaining a closer link with the parent group.
“I expect to spend around 40 per cent of my time in Australia in the new role, as well as a fair amount of time tying up strategic issues across the Asia Pacific and working on various other projects on magazine and book manufacturing for the Times Publishing Group,” says Rudzki.
Ross Durkin will also be joining the Australia team next week in the role of NSW account executive and will be working out of the Sydney office.
Fitzgerald says Durkin will make a valuable addition to the company’s workforce. “We welcome Ross after an extensive tenure at both PMP and Diamond Press,” says Fitzgerald. “His lifelong experience within the web printing market will bring an enormous amount of value to not only ourselves, but most importantly, to our customer base.”
