Traditional vogue in photobook design
Kodak and Clickonprint PhotoBooks have collaborated to bring the traditional appearance and feel of photo prints to press-printed photobooks.
Queensland-based Clickonprint now offers the Kodak Professional Endura paper in its complete range of photobooks. The 220gsm double-sided lustre paper is resin-coated to produce long-lasting prints with better colours.
According to company statement, the partnership of its HP Indigo Press and Kodak paper allows professional photographers to intermix their press-printed photobooks with silver-halide prints to offer clients a wider variety of photo-quality companion products.
General manager, Michael Barnard, says more professional photographers are switching to press-printed photobooks.
“The release of Kodak Professional Endura papers for our photobooks now enables them to compliment their traditional photo-prints without compromising quality,” he said.
Barnard says samples are available from Clickonprint’s website. He wants to let the stock speak for itself rather than try to capture it in a photo for the web.
“A lot of pro photographers and design agencies will use it for promotional coffee table books and portfolios. It has the look and feel of a traditional photo print, and complements existing silver halide products,” he said.
