Training opportunities for NSW print companies
A big round of training opportunities is gearing up for NSW printing companies in May and June.
Following PrintEx11 Printing Industries is scheduling courses in print estimating and planning, first aid, Sustainable Green Print and energy efficiency.
Printing Industries national manager, learning and development, Ian Walz, said print production co-ordinators, schedulers and accounts staff involved in estimating would be catered for in the Print Estimating and Planning course.
“We have had good feedback on our previous courses and the next one will continue along similar lines to help existing estimating staff brush up on their skills and give other staff called on to do estimating the opportunity to gain a detailed understanding of how the processes involved,” he said.
“Our next Sustainable Green Print (SGP) courses for Levels 1 & 2 will also be held later in May over two days.”
Level 1 focuses on waste, storage and handling and recycling. It is ideal for the small company starting down the compliance path. It covers record-keeping, compliance and cleaner production practices and waste management. It includes a simple environmental management system (EMS) that is your pathway to environmental sustainability.
Level 2 introduces additional levels of management and control including the tracking of waste streams and brings in a focus on your energy consumption and carbon footprint. SGP Level 2 provides key performance indicators for printing businesses covering waste, recycling, energy, water, incident management, storage and handling of printing chemicals, energy and air emissions.
Walz said the highly popular intensive one-day First Aid course had been scheduled for 16 June and was expected to fill quickly.
“If you want your staff to do the course, please book as soon as possible as our recent experience illustrates the course will fill fast and late registrations may have to be deferred to future dates past this time.”
All the courses will be held at Printing Industries Auburn office. On-site First Aid course training is available for companies with several staff wishing to undertake the certificate course.
