Training programs ready to roll
Prepress, sales skills and developing green business practices are just some of the courses Printing Industries will offer as part of its 2010 training program.
National manager, learning and development, Simon Peppercorn, said a new emphasis would be put on business development courses as well as the environment and workplace safety. “Each state is tailoring their offerings to suit local conditions in support of a range of nationally available courses becoming available throughout the year,” he said.
In Sydney, the first courses beginning 1 March are now available for bookings. Print Awareness – File Preparation for Prepress begins on 1 March and Print Awareness – Print Production Techniques on 5 March. They will be held in Printing Industries Sydney office. The development of future printing industry business leaders is the goal of the new Dynamic Leadership Skills course launched by Printing Industries Victoria. The course runs over 4, 5 and 6 May and teaches managers the three-dimensional leadership system (five leadership styles), communication, problem solving, stress management and decision-making skills and team management. Peppercorn said a number of new courses were under development covering financial planning, taxation, succession, cash flow and debt management, workplace safety improvement and minimisation of worker’s comp insurance costs.
“We will also shortly be announcing details of a major new national program for whole of business improvement for printing companies,” he said.
