Turner closes doors on Work and Turner
After 27 years within the printing industry, Keith Turner ceased productions of his Victoria-based Work and Turner business as of early May.
Keith Turner, owner of Work and Turner says there were a few reasons for the closure, his age being one in addition to undisclosed family reasons.
Business earnings were also a factor, as “the margins we were forced to sell at didn’t allow us to replace equipment as needed to modernise the company. We had also lost some big accounts to overseas.”
Victoria-based Lithocraft purchased Work and Turner’s client list and some of its staff. The equipment will be sold off privately.
Turner is very disappointed with the turn of events, “when I came in, the print industry was the fifth largest in Australia and there was a lot of pride in what we did. Nowadays everything is price driven and the world has moved on, as the business is done in a different way.”
He will remain within the industry for the time being as a consultant with Lithocraft on a casual basis.
Launched in 1985 Work & turner has been a trusted supplier of quality printing to corporations, manufacturers, publishers, advertising agencies and a diverse range of print buyers.
