Heidelberg has sold a second Gallus Labelfire digital press in Australia, as well as the country's first Labelmaster conventional press. Each will be installed in the second quarter of 2018.
The Labelfire will be installed in Sydney, while the Labelmaster is bound for Melbourne - both to as-yet-unnamed purchasers. "These sales have been very important for us, and we have some very good leads for additional sales," said James Rodden, Oceania head of sales for labels at Heidelberg. "It's also the start to the transition for the Heidelberg sales and service unit to service these new machines. There's been months of training involved in the first Labelfire installation at Rapid Labels in Melbourne to make it a success."
Rodden is touring Australia and New Zealand with Martin Kast, head of product management and sales development at Gallus headquarters in Switzerland, to promote Gallus' Labelmaster and Labelfire presses to local customers, outline what Gallus exhibited at Labelexpo in Brussels, and detail how Gallus is integrating its service and support expertise with Heidelberg's global network. "The trip has gone very well so far. Our customers have been interested in what Martin's had to say in regard to conventional and digital presses, as well as our new services with Heidelberg," Rodden said.
Kast says there's been a great response to the tour, which is his second visit to Australia. "We've visited a lot of customers. They've been very interested in our new products and what's going on with Gallus in Switzerland, as well as the whole transition of Gallus into Heidelberg," he said.
The two-week tour, which visited New Zealand, Melbourne and Sydney, concludes in South Australia on Thursday November 16, where Gallus will present to its customers in Adelaide and the Barossa Valley.
