Users pick up red hot Fiery tips

Konica Minolta runs joint seminars with EFI to spread the word about tips and tricks for the latest Fiery Command Workstation software.

Local Konica Minolta and EFI Fiery users have been finding out about some of the latest productivity tools available for use in the Fiery Command Workstation 5 (CWS5) software.

A series of seminars was held at the Konica Minolta showroom in Sydney this week at which EFI representatives, Anthony Parnemann and Rod Cummings, outlined some of the features of the software that can be used to increase productivity and streamline time-consuming digital print tasks.

Some of the topics covered during the seminars included using the SeeQuence suite of built-in tools to simplify imposition of complex jobs, colour management tools for handling RGB, CMYK and spot colour components, and simple VDP document management using FreeForm master pages.

Anthony Parnemann, OEM business manager for EFI, Asia Pacific, said that getting customers into the showroom for a few hours was a useful way of passing on knowledge about what can be achieved with Fiery servers.

“Quite often these can be tools that the users may not even be aware they have,” he commented.

Parnemann acknowledged the support of Konica Minolta in hosting the seminars and making the showroom printers available for use by attendees. This also gave users the opportunity to raise any issues they may have been encountering in their print rooms and receive instant feedback.

EFI has previously run seminars in both Sydney and Melbourne on a range of topics including how to design for digital print and techniques for selling digital print.
