Valuable lessons at NSW conference

The first is a report detailing successful business improvement strategies of Australian printing industry companies. Business Insights - Key Learnings from EPICS Projects 2000 – 2004 summaries the results and methodologies of many of the companies who took advantage of EPICS funding negotiated by Printing Industries to promote industry growth and profitability.

Featured companies have characteristics similar to the majority of industry companies. They wanted to know what was lacking in their business, how to fix it and what more to do. Case studies are used extensively through the book.

The second business resource being launched is Know Your Printing Paper, a guide to purchasing recycled content paper for corporate stationery and promotional materials. The publication is a joint initiative of Printing Industries with the NSW Department of Environment and Conservation.

The guide contains information about the characteristics, use and availability of all recycled content papers used for the most common business printing jobs. It also provides details of the suppliers of all the papers.

Printing Industries NSW Regional Manager, Jim Hopwood, said the launch of these resources highlighted the conference theme of Enrichment, Environment, Education.

“All attendees will receive advance copies of both these publications and gain the advantage of having knowledge to help them keep ahead of their competitors,” he said.

“Only a few rooms are left, so anyone wishing to attend should book no later than tomorrow as the convention centre will be booked out. “
