Variety Bash Car 15 report day 9 to 10
Charity racers departed Hobart across hard dirt roads to arrive just in time to watch to sunset over the Freycinet Peninsula.
According to Car 15 driver, Currie’s Phillip Rennell, the scenery has been spectacular and the car hasn’t missed a beat since the early stages of the Bash. “We are all getting a bit tired of the long days and evenings, but are in good spirits stopping overnight at Freycinet.
“On the way to Launceston we fixed the passenger side window at the side of the road. We basically took the lining off the side of the door, worked out where it had come apart and fitted it back together again with sticky tape. We made it much more difficult than it was, and it became a three man job,” he says.
The print trio are in good spirits as the race nears its end. However, the rattling of the broken glovebox had reached its peak of annoyance, whereby it duly deserved to be ripped off.
