Victorian government print tender–still on-hold

Director of strategic communications for the Department of Premier and Cabinet, Andrew Hockley, admitted that the slow moving tender is still yet to be finalised, despite original estimates that it would be up and running by October 2006.

"It has been a painstaking exercise because it is one which involves change management, maximising value for Victorian taxpayer and ensuring an outcome that is transparent, accountable and fair to all of those organisations with whom the Victorian Government deals with," he said.

Printing Industries’ general manager, Victoria and Tasmania, Ron Patterson, welcomed the ongoing communications from the Victorian government about the progress of the tender, and expressed his gratitude to various industry organisations for their collaboration with Printing Industries throughout the campaign.

Printing Industries anticipates a decision from the Victorian government on the print outsourcing tender in the coming months and will continue to work with the Department of Premier and Cabinet to ensure the industry is successfully represented.
