Victorian PICAs recruit four new judges
Well-known faces, consultant and Print21 contributor, Garry Muratore, (pictured) Currie Group’s John Shallvey, Ferrostaal Australia’s Gerard Wintle and Mark Holland from Spicers join this year’s panel of judges for the Victorian PICAs.
According to chairman, Rod Urquhart, the National Print Awards has meant that each state award must have its own panel of independent judges.
“Recruitment of new judges is part of that process, so that we can continue to ensure that the evaluation of entries is kept fresh and independent, while bringing ‘new blood’ onto the team to make sure we keep pace with the latest techniques and processes that are reflected in the competition categories,” he said.
“We’re delighted that these excellent judges have accepted our invitation to join the panel for what we believe is a very important role in the industry – the recognition and encouragement of excellence in ‘the art of craft’.”
Entries for this year’s Victorain PICAs must be received at Printing Industries in Mulgrave by close of business on Tuesday 17 August 2010. Judging will begin at the end of the month.
Winners will be announced at the PICA Victoria Presentation Dinner, to be held at Sofitel on Collins on Friday 15 October 2010. To download an entry form, check category details or find out more about the Presentation Dinner, go to www.picavic.com.au
