Webby award for Aussie skills

A new Australian Trade Skills Institute which facilitated the national televising of Printing Industries' Imagine: A World Without Print? industry promotional DVD has won a prestigious international award at the Webbys.

The Webbys are the web site industry's equivalent of the Oscars. The awards attracted nearly 10,000 entries from all 50 US States and from more than 60 countries internationally.

SkillsOne, an initiative of The Institute for Trade Skills Excellence, has won the Webby Award in the "Associations" category of the 12th Annual Webby Awards announced recently by David-Michel Davies at the Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences in New York.

Printing Industries' national operations manager, Robert Fuller, said the award was tremendous recognition of the efforts by SkillsOne and its team led by the Institute's CEO Brian Wexham.

"We congratulate Brian and his team on this achievement which has showcased what Australia is doing to promote career opportunities for young people and showcasing skills within industries, including the printing industry, by using web technology and TV to promote industry products, processes and careers," he said.
