The next Printing Industries webinar hits the broadband this Wednesday, May 14, with an in-depth dive into the benefits of industry mergers. Hosted by Richard Rasmussen, Market Watch specialist and director Ascent Partners, the latest installment lifts the veil on some common fibs and fallacies that hang around the buying and selling of print businesses.

Rasmussen (pictured) offers up his industry expertise to demystify recent market comings and goings. He insists that future-planning scenarios for any print company should always consider the growth opportunities of acquisition or merger, but that many business owners may be unaware of the rationale behind those decisions.

“There is a common misconception that those who merge or sell must be in trouble. That’s most often plain wrong for mergers and for sellers often inaccurate. For both groups their decision is often based on clear analysis of the present situation and the need to change,” says Rasmussen.

“In the case of a merger perhaps it’s to form a better future and in the case of the seller – potentially a variety of reasons including retirement, part of an exit strategy, an unwillingness to invest more money into capital investments or because the timing is right to achieve the best return on investment.”

The webinar, Mergers and acquisitions – should you observe or participate? is targeted at identifying risks and rewards, explaining the processes and mechanics and prompting discussion about when to take the leap. According to Rasmussen, this is a conversation that everyone should be engaged with, regardless the size of business.

“They are for forward thinking businesses of all sized and those that aspire to grow, improve profitability and build a more sustainable business model,” he explains.

Kicking off at 1pm (AEST), the webinar will run for 30 minutes, followed by a short Q&A sessions. To register, please click here.
