Websend makes its way into the classroom
Beginning in Victoria where Swinburne University lecturer Ramona Tilley contacted Websend with the idea of giving her students more industry knowledge, it was then decided that using the advertising pre-flight delivery solution would be incorporated into Tilley's graphic arts course. Websend worked closely with Tilley to develop a standard course curriculum, which is now delivered through participating institutions. "The closer we work Websend in education, the better equipped our graduates will be, and thus infinitely more employable," Tilley said.
The second major institution to incorporate the Websend Certificate was the Sydney Graphics College. College Principal Mark Sturzenegger was impressed with Tilley's initiative and the high quality of the Websend system and embraced the concept as well, introducing it to all students in 2007. "This will provide our students with additional production skill and knowledge when they graduate and begin seeking employment in the design industry," he said.
Connie Caputo, Websend publications manager said that she expected to see an increase in demand from teachers and students. "The list of colleges wanting to teach Websend is growing," she said. "We have just added Box Hill TAFE in Victoria who are running the Websend course in the second half of 2007 to fit in with their curriculum with many more to follow."
