Westminster Printing achieves Sustainable Green Print

Sustainable Green Print 2 certification makes Brisbane’s Westminster Printing even greener.

The company is located at Paddington in Brisbane’s inner north in a predominantly residential precinct.

Managing director, Michael Collins, said this created high environmental management expectations not only among staff, suppliers and customers, but with residential neighbours as well.

The solution to meet all of the expectations was to undertake Printing Industries’ Sustainable Green Print (SGP) certification program which the company recently completed and was successfully audited to Level 2 on.

“Having an environmental management system that is independently audited each year will help us keep focused on our responsibilities,” Collins said.

“We now have a platform from which we can begin to work towards SGP Level 3 and alignment with the international standard.”

Westminster Printing is one of several Queensland printing businesses working towards the fully ISO14001-aligned SGP Level 3.

“Since beginning the SGP program, Westminster Printing has been able to halve the number of collections of landfill-directed waste thereby improving its environmental performance and reducing a significant cost stream,” Collins said.
