Well-known industry figure Steve Peck has joined Fujifilm’s graphic systems team as project and marketing manager. Peck brings with him decades of expertise and experience in the industry upper echelons, serving with major press and technology suppliers Heidelberg and Kodak.

Peck (pictured) spent more than ten years with Kodak where he spearheaded development and distribution of the NexPress. His experience with the NexPress stretches back before that to his Heidelberg days, when the digital press range was a joint venture between the two businesses, ultimately transferring when Kodak took over the running. According to Peck he is looking forward to working with Fujifilm as it tackles the ongoing changes to the printing market.

“We all know our industry is undergoing great change and I feel that Fujifilm has managed that change better than most, with its moves into wide-format inkjet, high volume inkjet web, workflow and processless plate technology. It’s a true global brand and I am very pleased to be part of the team,” said Peck.

Lindsay Barnes, general manager, Fujifilm Graphic Systems, welcomes Peck to the team, saying, “Steve has a thorough knowledge of both sides of printing – digital and conventional. We are delighted to have him on the team to manage specific projects and look after our marketing. He’s a polished professional and adds considerable weight to our already experienced team.”

Before his time with Kodak and Heidelberg, Peck worked as sales director for Hyphen Asia-Pacific during the 1990s, prepress and rip specialists that pioneered software-based digital integration of image-setting and CtP. He trained and studied in the UK with Marconi Electronic Instruments.

Outside the graphics world Peck is a keen pilot, and lives on Sydney’s northern beaches.
