Winners are grinners at Queensland PICAs

Some 126 medals were presented during the Queensland Printing Industries Craftsmanship Awards on Saturday 12 October at the Sofitel Brisbane Central Hotel. Printcraft was awarded the Judges Choice Award medal and Impressworks the Special Commendation Award.

The remaining 124 medals featured 37 Gold, 45 Silver and 42 Bronze awards.

Printing Industries’ State Manager, Queensland, Neal McLary said the new cocktail style function proved successful allowing more interaction between guests and greater focus on the presentations via the theatre-style seating.

“It was a trial that I believe has gone very well and created a very relaxed environment where guests could be more social and take their time to chat and to examine the exhibition of entries,” he said.

“I congratulate all our entrants for their support. I must also mention our excellent co-MCs, Bruce Irwin, who was also our PICA judging chairman and comedian Scott Williams.

“Their excellent repertoire kept the whole evening humming," he said.
