Women wooed by Sandra Yates
Guest speaker at this year’s Heidelberg Women in Print conferences, Sandra Yates, inspires ladies from the printing industry across Australia.
With four out of the five events already taken place, Angeline Wyatt, Heidelberg business development coordinator and organiser of the event, said that numbers had reached 450 and were expected to rise after the Adelaide show this week.
This is a significant rise from a total of 385 attendees last year. “Number-wise we are well ahead,” Wyatt said. “This year has been an overwhelming success given the fact that we have had a GFC. Initially, we weren’t sure how numbers would go, but we’ve been blown away.”
According to Wyatt, guest speaker, Sandra Yates, well-known magazine publisher, who delivered a presentation, ‘Winning Ways’ was the highlight for the crowds. “They lapped up everything said had to say. Sandra is a well-connected women to the business and industry,” Wyatt said.

In comparison to some other local events, Women in Print is still a new addition to the social scene; however, Wyatt is inspired by the support and level of interest from the print community. “Printing is a male-dominated industry, that’s for sure,” she said. “But Women In Print has now established itself as a part of the industry calendar and Heidelberg will continue to support this initiative.”
