Xeikon company boosts its DFE with Esko-Graphics takeover
The E-G department already contributes to the Xeikon digital front end with the Barco-developed PrintStreamer, designed to process large volumes of digital data at high speed for the digital colour presses. The move is seen as a further consolidation of the Xeikon business following its near-death experience two years ago.
The take-over comprises about 15 employees, intellectual property and a range of contracts for development projects, service and spare parts supply.
Esko-Graphics was formed from the merger of Purup- Eskofot and Barco Graphics Systems.
In this region Xeikon is represented by IPP Print&Pack as the DICO Web, the MAN Roland digital solution, although no installations have been reported. The local Esko-Graphics company is headed up by Peter Henderson who, in a previous role, was once responsible for the Xeikon product with Edward Keller.
