Xerox personalises drupa
With an estimated 50,000 people expected to attend drupa next month, Australian print providers will play a driving role in showcasing innovative and locally developed applications.
Conscious that attendees visit drupa specifically to learn first hand what drives this fast-growing industry, Xerox has announced the "personalise your drupa tour". This will allow visitors to the Xerox stand to develop a daily planner of sessions, activities and demonstrations that they would like to attend, from their desktops even before they get to the departures lounge.
"By logging onto www.xeroxdrupa.com, registrants can customise their own daily schedule helping them to receive the maximum return from that day's events," said Simon Lane, National Manager for Fuji Xerox Australia's Production Services Business.
One of the Australian applications to be showcased focuses on the production of The Lonely Planet Guide. This application will demonstrate the creation of a Lonely Planet Guide book to Dusseldorf and its surrounding areas and will include the production of the book, literally from start to finish, with copies available 'hot off the press'.

Using the super-fast Xerox Nuvera 288 and DocuColor 5000, the 'Lonely Planet' demonstration will showcase the ease of integrating colour covers with monochrome inserts; as well as a dynamically printed section containing daily details of what's on in Dusseldorf. Onsite in-line finishing by C.P. Bourg Book Factory will complete production.
Visitors to the Xerox stand will also be exposed to improved business efficiencies through solid business sustainability practices and new innovative technology solutions.
"Xerox is known globally for its commitment to sustainability and we look forward to discussing 'best of breed' solutions and work practices with our customers," Lane said,
"With a theme of "Connect With Opportunity", we will be provided with a platform to collaborate with our visiting customers on solutions using the right technology, the right workflow and the right business model."
A team of Fuji Xerox Australia sales, marketing and analyst team members will be on duty at drupa to support and engage with customers who attend the event.

Fuji Xerox Australia will sponsor two BBQ nights arranged by the Printing Industries of Australia to provide an opportunity for informal networking amongst the delegates.
