ZAC makes the difference for Scott Print
Premier Western Australia printing company, Scott Print is on a continuing improvement path. In the past year it has installed new Komori presses with UV drying to boost productivity. An essential part of the development is the introduction of dual ZAC intelligent plate processing lines from Fujifilm, which is proving it’s worth day by day.
According to Tim Scott, General Manager, the past 12 months has been a period of significant change at Scott Print, with a thorough review of all components of the business from machinery and production through to people management, to determine the best ways of operation
“The install of our two new presses has definitely been the most considerable investment, and the move to the Zac CTP was considered in this decision. The collective effect of the changes made over the past 12 months at Scotts has led to improved efficiencies, increased morale and more environmentally friendly operations,” he said.
Scott Print works by collective decisions when it comes to technology investment, involving both production and management in the decisions. The expectation for the Zac CTP was to reduce chemistry usage and ensure the optimal processing conditions were maintained.
“Prepress is a pivotal part of the offset print business. Our goal was to find a technology that was reliable and easy to maintain, to ensure that we reduced downtime in the press room,” said Scott.
Environmental sustainability is considered in every production decision at Scott Print, and the Zac CTP is no exception. We were definitely impressed with the claim that the processors are able to deliver major reductions in chemistry usage.”
